The clove “RAVENALA”

The scientific name of the clove is “Syzygium aromaticum”, it’s from the Myrtacaeae family.
Madagascar is the second clove producing country. The clove of Madagascar is very high in taste and in color.
In the old days, clove was used to have better breath and for medicinal treatments and its culinary roles. Cloves can relieve dental pain.

Currently, clove oil is widely used in dental pharmacology (for drugs and consumables of the dentist).

In infusion, the clove helps to fight various digestive problems: stomach ache, bloating. It also calms urinary tract infections and kidney stones.
Because of its antiviral and antibacterial properties, clove is also used to prevent colds, flu and other winter infections, even rheumatic seizures.

In cooking, cloves are a powerful spice in smell and taste. It aromatizes broths, soups, vinegars, pickles, sauerkraut. Clove is a basic ingredient in the preparation of all dishes. Some cheese makers use it to flavor lean cheese.
In sweet kitchen, cloves are easily absorbed in gingerbreads and are mixed in cookies with cinnamon.
The powder of cloves perfumes also some desserts.

Clove is an insect repellent and an aphrodisiac spice.
